In 15 words or fewer, I want the world to know...
Don’t listen to celebrities who give unqualified advice on philosophy or politics…we don’t know sh**.
So how did you end up leaving Indy to pursue acting?
My next-door neighbor’s son worked at Iowa State University and they had us over for a little get-together and I asked him about colleges for acting. He took me into a room and asked if I knew any monologues.
I did a monologue and he noticed that I took direction really well and he said, “Look, you’re marketable now. To go to college would be a waste.” He told me to start training so I moved to Chicago and trained with a master Meisner teacher by the name of Kathryn Gately.
Do you think that moving to major acting cities at such a young age gave you an advantage?
I’m a big believer in falling on your ass. I’d rather get that done when I’m young and have a lot of options. Sure, you start off at a lower tier, but you can be ahead by the time everyone else gets out (of college).
Did you have any regular gigs before landing “V?”
I was in a Web series called “Circledrawers,” an independent feature out of Iceland (which also starred Steven R. Schirripa, aka Bobby Bacala on “The Sopranos”). Then I was in an independent film, “Lymelife,” that did really well; it was co-produced by Martin Scorcese and had Emma Roberts, Alec Baldwin, a bunch of other people.
And then I did a Lifetime movie called “America” with Rosie O’Donnell. The director (Yves Simoneau) who directs me on “V” directed that.
Are you starting to get recognized on the street?
One time I leaving the premiere of a friend’s movie and this girl said, “Excuse me, are you Logan Huffman?,” and I said, “Do I know you?” because no one pronounces my name right. Usually it’s like, Logan Hoffman. She said, “I love you on ‘V’ and I looked you up on IMDB.” She was the first person who ever recognized me and she’s my friend on Facebook now.
Is there anything you miss about Indiana when you’re away?
Cornfields. The dirt — the clay-ey soil. We’ve got it good here.
If you were to go to jail for life, what's the last meal you'd eat in this town?
A pork tenderloin at the Randolph in Winchester, Ind.
If there was one other television show, miniseries, or movie remake that you could star in, what would it be?
I’d love to be in one of the new Indiana Jones films, I’d love to play the scary son of a Nazi or something. I always wanted to do a cheap “Lethal Weapon” movie and play up the '80s saxophone.
Indianapolis: Love it or leave it?
I’m never gonna leave it. It’s my home. I’m gonna be buried in Indiana. I have to leave it for work but I love Indiana.
